Some nice features but no padding.

This pack weighs 2.04 lbs. Not the lightest in its price range, but not bad. It's fairly minimalist in features but has most of what you need for a package of this size. The only thing that immediately caught my eye was that the shoulder straps had very little padding. There are lower shoulder strap adjusters, which is good, but I really wish the shoulder straps were softer. There are adjustable chest and waist straps. Where many packs have a wide waistbelt, this is 3/4" wide. However, I've noticed that many packs of this size have thinner waistbelts. The padded portion of the waistbelt next to the bag itself doesn't have zippered compartments, but I usually wear cargo pants anyway , so it doesn't really matter. Again, it all depends on the size of the backpack and what you're going to use it for. This isn't a "long journey, heavy load" package. It has a very nice drawstring pouch at the top of the package with a very nice one wide opening. There is a "lid" on the top that covers the opening of the pack, which is a zipped compartment with plenty of room for easy access to day-hike essentials. It closes with a clasp rather than with a latch, which was a bit unusual but seems to work well, to be honest a hook closure is less likely to fail than a plastic one fclosure. There is a decent storage compartment on the outside of the pack with adjusters at the top. It has two water bottle holders on the undersides which weren't clearly visible in the photos online. The interior of the backpack has a divider that fits a 15" laptop or hydration tank and there is a latch at the top to lock the bottle. There is a hole at the top of the packaging specially designed for the drinking tube. There is no buckle on the shoulder straps to secure the hose. There's also a nice, durable woven handle on the top of the backpack. A pretty cool touch is the long side zips, which allow you to access things like a raincoat without having to open the entire pack to get to it. These flashes are not protected from rain, it does not appear. The material of the backpack seems to be very durable. I can't confirm its water resistance, but the notes show it's more durable than most waxed canvas backpacks. The time will show. The rear padding is again minimal and has marginal ventilation. There are several additional loops and a special loop for trekking poles. This is a good backpack that has a lot to like, but unfortunately the overall comfort of the backpack falls short. Made in Vietnam.
