The first order came with a crumpled left side. It is not well protected during shipping (only comes in a plastic bag inside the shipping box). It was easy to send a replacement to Revane. When I received a replacement I found that the first one I received was also missing the silicone ring to make it airtight. The silicone ring is on the bread box itself, not the lid if you want to test yours too. The second is in perfect condition! I like the minimalist look of the bread box. It goes so well with my other kitchen decor/storage (see photo)! It's a nice size and fits a loaf of bread, a bag of hamburger buns, and bagels with a little more. I only put store bought bread in it so I can't comment on the freshness. From my previous use everything seems to be fine. I highly recommend, just check upon delivery!
