I was looking for a case with a stand but none that I saw were strong enough for this large and heavy tablet. I saw this and realized that it should provide the protection I wanted and the grip of the rubber should allow the tablet to rest on something else like a pillow etc. It does exactly what I wanted plus the curve of the Edges and sculpting of the back makes it really easy to grab/hold when it's not against something. The material has an odor but I only noticed it when opening the sealed package and not afterwards. When I put my nose to the rubber, it smells slightly, but the tablet is never that close in everyday use. Perhaps you have a more sensitive nose. The S-Pen holds safe and secure and charges through the case. I bought a tempered glass screen protector separately and this case goes perfectly with it.
