The quality is much worse than expected. The plastic feels cheap and flimsy. Unfortunately, the remote control doesn't really do much. For example, you can't open the claw with the controls, only manually, which is a major drawback. My son wanted him to play with his cars until he realized he wouldn't pick them up. I think a younger kid would have enjoyed it more but I think when my son was younger it wouldn't have stood up to his game. We'd give him up, but his little sister is having fun with him. She is annoyed that she thinks the crane is huge but cannot lift much. Even a hot wheel can weigh down a flat platform. This device has extra thin artificial chains to hold it together. She enjoys finding different toys to use with the claw and she easily fits in the driver's seat. She takes up so much space for a boring toy! But because of its size, it can be a fun gift for a little kid. Unfortunately, this can lead to major problems for parents constantly trying to put it back together and frustrating children, so buy with caution.
