Cats love to rest on it.

.but not really used as a notebook. They've tried a few times, but their claws lift it off the ground when they try to grab it, so they don't use it that way anymore. Instead, they like to play around with it. It's a little weird to me because it looks like a big napkin. I think that makes it a 'cat meeting place'. I keep it in a sunny corner and one or two of our cats will plonk down on it for a nap. All in all, it's cute and your cats will likely find a use for it, but it might not do the trick as a scratching post.
