I have 3 versions of this thing, all from the same company. I have a plastic retracts that cost twice as much and an older version that had a swivel mechanism. and it's by far my favorite despite being the cheapest. Because? Noise. Something I did NOT consider when I got the extended plastic version. Whenever you drove on anything other than a silky smooth road, you could hear the plastic clicking and shaking, and it's missing. It's basically a soft elastic strap that you slip over the headrest and 2 super velcro retaining clips that you attach to that strap. It stays flush with the headrest, so you don't have a weird plastic mechanism pushing the device 4 inches out of your face (and I have a big car, I can't even imagine what would be in a small car) and it's dead silent . The elastic type is shock absorbing for absolutely any terrain and your device will stay in place. This is the closest thing to what's built into your headrest. others might give you a bit more mobility and the ability to place a screen in the center of the seats, but MAN is loud.
