Review on πŸͺ‘ Thread Removal Crafting Tool: Sewing Rippers by Hannah Curi

Revainrating 5 out of 5

They do what they're supposed to do and aren't expensive

What can I say? These seam openers tear open the seams. Anyone who sews will tell you that Jack the Ripper is a necessary evil, our best friend and worst enemy rolled into one. Getting Jack to work means something went wrong, and it's never fun, but there's a little bit nicer when Jack goes to work. I've been using the same seam ripper for over 20 years, and you know what? These things are getting boring! Stitches are much easier to cut and remove when Jack is young, healthy, and fun. :) They also seem durable and the bright colors make rip stitches a little less tiring. Now you're probably thinking "why do you need 8 of these?" especially when it's clear I could use the same one for years. Well, the larger ones are definitely more ergonomic and comfortable to use, which is why they're a must-have. And small ones are good for finer stitches and tiny areas. But most of all I need extra seam ripper because of my husband! He found these little bugs worked well on his line, so now he regularly steals them for his tackle box. In the end I decided it was easier to have a few extras so he didn't have to steal mine when he needed them. So there you have it - the seam ripper is a must-have for both the seamstress and the fisherman.

Pros
  • 2. Large version of the thread remover: with a long, flat handle that's light and comfortable to hold; The large thread remover can unpick the seams very quickly and easily.
Cons
  • Dubious purchase for old people
