I am very happy with my new cat flap. I researched many different options and finally settled on this one based on the price, size, color and positive reviews. I think the cat door is solid, the front is completely white (you can't see any screws or anything). I plan to paint our cat door brown to match the door. The door has a plastic insert that can be left or removed. The advantage of the in-ears is that when your cat enters the room, the in-ears make a thud and for a split second you actually know where your cat is. There is a magnet at the bottom of the door. As a result, the insert always closes behind your cat. We gave our cat about a week to get used to the pad. He was getting used to it but seemed annoyed every time he had to push the door open. We ended up just removing the insert. It was easy to just unscrew it. The door also comes with a panel that you can use to block the opening. Installation was a breeze. I followed the directions and used the guide provided. I used a drill, a pencil and a utility knife. Unfortunately, that was all I had at the time. I think the door turned out well (see photo), given the limited number of tools.
