Review on ๐ŸŒธ Braun Silk-รฉpil 5 5-280: Effective Hair Removal for Women with Shaver Trimmer and Cooling Glove by Linda Floyd

Pretty cool as my first epilator

This is my first epilator and I've been using it regularly for about a month. As you have heard, the pain is terrible for the first few uses. It took me 3-4 sessions to grow all the hair on my entire leg so I started doing it every day. After about 5 sessions, I actually noticed that the pain had subsided significantly. It still hurts when I start in the area but once I start the pain really subsides. I don't know how it compares to other models, but it works pretty well. It breaks quite a bit of hair, especially my fine hairs, which is a shame as I'm very prone to ingrown hairs, but the amount it removes from the root impresses me. I have to go over the same area many times to get all the hair out, but gradually I have to do it less as the hair comes out much easier now. My biggest disadvantage is that it causes ingrowth. Hair is worse than shaving. If you too have this problem I recommend salicylic acid wipes/astringent, wash the area before and after waxing with Hibicleanse to prevent bacteria from entering the follicle and then apply a liberal amount of calamine lotion, to soothe the area and dry out impurities . Despite all of this, I still get ingrowths, but a lot less than when I started (I'm still dealing with scars from it). Top pro and the only reason I started wearing this myself is because I can already see a difference in the coarseness of my hair on my legs/arms/arms. Not all hair thins at the same rate, so while I notice less coarse black hair than before, there is still coarse black between the finer, lighter ones. I think that over the next year or so I will be able to make my body hair look less aggressive even after it has grown back. I am very happy about it! Another plus is that it minimizes the appearance of my dark hair follicles on my pale skin. Even when I was freshly shaven, my calves were covered with tiny black dots that made me uneasy. This has been drastically reduced with epilation, but the hyperpigmentation I get from folliculitis and ingrown hairs keeps me from showing my legs anymore. So cons: - I still get folliculitis every time which lasts all day and leaves some pigment behind. after it settles down - i have tons of ingrown hairs - it still hurts to start each session - it takes a long time (several hours?) to fill up my legs, underarms and bikini area mainly because i have to walk over one with it and same area many times to remove all hairs (and it never removes ALL hairs, but the few I missed are usually so minimal that no one notices) - breaks off some hairs instead of yanking them out who then becoming stubble Pros: No ugly dark stubble growing all at once which means I can now shave less than if I had shaved. Much less visible black follicles. The hair itself is gradually thinning and lightening in color and grows back so easily in areas like my joints that were originally normal that it's almost invisible for long periods of time. As I continue to use this it takes me less and less time to do the bikini line. Shaving precautions make this my worst area for ingrown hairs. Also, even after a fresh shave, this area has never been stubble-free, but is now 95% smooth. The head is easy to remove and can be fully submerged in ethanol after each use to maintain hygiene, which I recommend (just make sure you let it dry completely before reassembling). Once I get used to it, it will be a huge improvement in shaving. Even with ingrown hairs in mind, I recommend this product to other beginners who are willing to endure the pain and work to get through the first few months in exchange for finer body hair and less visible follicles. I think for the price the product is a great introduction to epilation and only if I still love this method of hair removal in a year or so will I consider upgrading to a more expensive model. I'll try to report back in a few months if my ingrown teeth get better over time with this remedy.

Pros
  • So far so good
Cons
  • Too long to wait
