No sound on my 3 year old Samsung TV. I checked the audio and found that the problem was in the TV itself. The website that provided troubleshooting instructions said that if the problem was with the TV itself, I would have to decide whether to spend the money repairing the TV or buying a new one. I didn't want to spend money on a new TV right now, so I came up with the 3rd option. I decided to use an external speaker. It worked! Of course, I can no longer control the volume with the TV remote, but I solved this problem by attaching the speaker remote to the TV remote with Velcro. The connection was very easy. There are other types of mounting cables in the box and all I had to do was plug it into the back of the TV and I was good to go. If I want, I can also connect wirelessly to my smartphone to play music. I'm so glad I only have to invest the amount of money this acoustic bar costs instead of paying 10x that for a new TV. One day I will buy this new TV, but not until I'm ready.
