Review on Espresso Shaker Design House Brookings 24-Inch Base Cabinet by Heather Gorman

Bad delivery, bad assembly, bad decision

Problems with this product started with its delivery. UPS literally threw a 60 pound sack onto the porch, blocking the front door and making it almost impossible to find. I took it inside to check for damage to the package itself and its contents. There were several chips in various parts, including the espresso veneer, as well as nicks in the wood itself. Once I started collecting it, it became clear that someone had tried it before. On the parts there were residues of glue, torn off screws that held, or rather did not hold, several joint elements. However, I persistently tried to assemble it only to find that the back was deformed and didn't fit into the grooves that held it in place, especially as the stripped screws didn't work. Here it is, partially assembled, in the middle of my dining room. Before attempting to assemble this cabinet I reluctantly accepted a partial refund from Revain as the time and cost of trying to return it seemed less of a problem than receiving a damaged but still serviceable cabinet. I was wrong about the "healthy" part. So if anyone has any suggestions on how to unroll the backing or heal the stripped screws please let me know so I can get this "closet" out of the dining area.
