First of all, we want to say that unfortunately those who say that the surface of these films is cloudy and not completely transparent simply did not understand that on these shelves there are 2 films - one on the front and a rear fairing protector. Once you peel them off they are truly and completely transparent. And they are very strong; after ordering 6 sets - we only had 1 damaged shelf and the seller took care of it quickly and fully. We installed these shelves on the wall to display the instructional DVDs. The only real complaint we had was that the supplied wall anchors were useless, but then again, most things that come with wall anchors aren't very good anchors. We went to Home Depot, bought a set of good wall anchors and got to work (because we were doing long rows to fill the wall - most of the time we couldn't hit the studs). We created a shelving pattern that we used over and over as we walked through the wall (we did 5 rows) - it was helpful. Installation took a little longer than we thought, as with most home projects, and a trip to Home Depot added time as well. :) However, installation was easy and these shelves are perfect - and they look SO professional! We have received a lot of positive feedback. The height of the front edge is ideal so that the DVDs (they are in clear paper sleeves) do not fall out - even if the stack is tilted forward. And because the shelves are 100% clean, people can see the DVD cases unobstructed (like our last shelf) - even up to the top shelf. Couldn't be happier - we will be buying more!
