I bought this product to protect myself from the bright sun that shines through my bedroom window during the day. One of my cats loves to sit on the windowsill in the sun for hours every day! Your skin naturally has no UV protection at all. Too much sun exposure is not good for them, but it easily causes skin cancer. If I pull down both the blinds and the sun visors, she just finds a way to go beyond the blinds and shades and still get some sun exposure. so she doesn't get the sun's rays directly on her skin, especially on her head/face. And I remove the curtains when the sun goes down. So far so good!
