Beware of counterfeit Metolius gloves. See photos

Counterfeit Metolius protective gloves. See attached photos. For the last 10 years I've been wearing Metolius belay gloves and Petzl Cordex for light to medium work. My job involves manipulating ropes under load and climbing various structures for up to 12 hours on a daily basis. I have found the above gloves to be the best in terms of durability and dexterity. The Metolius are my favorite gloves, although they do get a bit hot in the summer. They smell like formaldehyde mixed with plastic gas. The fit is terrible and the material is like those cheap $6.99 gloves you get at Walmart. I have had dozens of Metolius Belay gloves over the years to finally conclude that the pair I received are COUNTERFEIT. My hands can tell if I'm wearing real gloves or not. A few tips on how to tell if your gloves are fake: Fit: Genuine Metolius Belay gloves fit almost perfectly. The thumb is rounded with minimal additional material. The fake gloves featured a huge thumb that was square rather than round. Construction: Real Metolius has fine, evenly spaced stitching with reinforcement on the edge of the Velcro where it connects to the body of the glove. You shouldn't see any open threads on the back of your fingers. Finally. You can see the photos I have attached regarding the fake pair of gloves. If you received a similar pair, I recommend you return it. You paid too much for a defective product.
