I was looking for something between racerback and normal strap width for a dress with slightly shortened sleeves. Ordinary racerback bras or a center clip would hide the straps on the side but expose them right at the base of the neck, which is no better. This is good for two reasons: 1) You can adjust how tight you want the straps together. They contract to about 3 inches wide. 2) You can adjust the position of the clip (i.e. it can be placed high or low on the back) to suit different styles of clothing. Someone asked me to close the back, but when I took it off, I simply undid the normal part of the bra and slipped the top over my head where the halter was attached. I suppose you can do the same to put it on. As an added bonus, this has an increased rider-back effect for a roomier front view if that's your thing.
