This is a GREAT rug. I had a madcatz pro battle mat (updated version) and it was a piece of junk. The D-pad movement was terrible, and the plastic jumper that contacts the circuit board broke within a few days. I can't count the number of times I've taken it apart just to use it for a few hours. However, this is a different fish pot. It's very easy. But I have a feeling that's the way it should be. I see some people complaining but it hasn't affected my gameplay in any way. It's also a little smaller than I thought it would be, but I suspect it's more versatile. I have somewhat large hands and Madcatz seemed huge2. The D-Pad is beautiful and durable! It's not as soft as a Dualshock and it's almost impossible to miss input with it. It hurts my fingers after prolonged use when new, but I think it will soften with age.3. The Sega Saturn form has been tested and still works here. Perfect fit in hand without slipping.4. The keys react without blocking. However, the triggers make an annoying noise that sounds like it's cheap plastic, but again, it doesn't affect gameplay. All in all, this is a great FightPad for those who don't want to upgrade to a joystick but want access to an arcade-style 6-button layout.
