This fan is aesthetically superior; it looks like a work of art. But after seeing an ad for noise cancellation I tried it and thought it was almost silent. The problem is that not only was it a bit noisy, but there was high-frequency noise, similar to PC fan noise. This is because the internal fan has the same centrifugal design as the vacuum cleaner (you can see this by removing the top and looking inside) and spins quickly, resulting in a higher frequency of noise production. I just couldn't take it in the bedroom. I sent it back and opted for a larger, slower fan that made a lot less noise. Apart from the high number of complaints, I didn't see any other problems. If you are happy with the type of noise then this product is great.
