In the foreword I say that I'm probably not the ideal buyer for the Aputure AL-MX test. I bought it to use as a fill light for my photography projects I've been doing as a photography student for the last few years. I only have one speedlight so I use Aputure as a tool to enhance some of my images. Overall, I like that it's compact, lightweight, and fits in my camera bag. Light used at moderate to low power lasts a very long time; Can't remember, but that's longer than I'd expect for a pocket-sized power plant. It is easy to install on a stand and place almost anywhere. I appreciate the fact that you can control the warmth or coolness of the color temperature to change the mood of the images you capture. The attachment of the diffuser (via Velcro) is the only thing I would like to complain about. If those velcro straps that hold the diffuser get a bit of dirt they won't stick and can be frustrating when you need diffused lighting.
