It worked. I still have some screen artifacts and the adhesive didn't attach to the corners, but it's inside the case so it was still worth a cheap DIY repair. I can hit it later with a heat gun and weight and see if that makes the glue stick. I was careless when disassembling and didn't pay attention to the home button band, so I had to buy one to replace it. Do-it-yourselfers are advised to watch videos on Youtube and pay attention to where the tapes are.
