I have three ceiling fans at home that I absolutely despise because I can't use part of the fan due to allergies and each gives a tiny bulb too little light to work. All they do to me is an extra job every week to climb a ladder to dust it off. I saw these lightbulbs and thought they might be the answer. These bulbs put out more light than the regular little bulbs my fans use, but gosh the light is TERRIBLE. I mean REALLY TERRIBLE. I thought they could give off a light similar to that of an office, but they don't. They emit a blue light, giving everything a kind of ghostly pallor. Although the ending appeals to my fans, the actual part of the bulb is too long for me to put the ball back on the mount without touching the bulb. I'm afraid the heat from the bulb will eventually cause the ball to crack so I removed the ball from the mount which makes the fan itself look very ugly. Let's face it, there's nothing aesthetically pleasing about this bulb, so a mere bulb is a serious distraction from decor. The spooky, spooky blue light is depressing. Yes, it gives me more light than before, but the trade-off is huge. Another reviewer wrote that the light from this bulb is what you would expect in a morgue. That statement wasn't an exaggeration, folks. I could stand the office light with no problem, but for the house this light is just terrible. I will never buy these again. I only gave these bulbs two stars because they fit the socket and give enough light.
