If you are planning on installing this mini compass in a car or truck, DO NOT. No matter where you place the compass, the magnetic interference is too great for a compass to be even remotely accurate. In my garage, not in the car but in the middle of the garage seems safe. Just outside the garage but still not in the car, that seemed pretty accurate. I put it in the car next to the garage and moved it around the car to different places and it showed true north as east on the compass. waste of money. NOT FOR CAR OR TRUCK.
