Save Me: Mattress Covers

Bought a Pacific Coast featherbed to add some pillows to the new Sealy hybrid mattress that was killing me. I let it air and swell for a few days, then placed it directly on my mattress, put a mattress pad on top and made my bed as usual. I really like this bed, it's so comfortable and it doesn't hurt my joints anymore. I tend to run a bit on the hot side and haven't noticed a temperature difference. The label says dry clean only, which is fine with me as my mattress topper covers it. For those who think they need to wash it regularly, I suggest you read this thread as it is completely unnecessary under normal circumstances. To be honest I was concerned after reading some of the critical reviews but took a chance because of the 30 night guarantee and glad I did! I haven't had any issues with crackling or rustling and that would be a deal breaker for me. No problem with feathers getting stuck in me or flying around I guess because I have a mattress cover to cover them. Pacific Coast sells a protective zippered pouch that says it "keeps feathers inside and keeps dirt out." Let's be realistic, if your duvet fell down, it's YOUR fault. Do you think about how your weight crushes him every night? It needs to be shaken, beaten and beaten every 2-3 days. If you can't do that, you probably need alternative stuffing instead of feathers. Choose wisely and make informed decisions. Quality bed at a bargain price. Highly recommended
