They look a bit silly at first, but when you turn them on, they look like real flames. I was amazed at how real they looked. The only reason I didn't give them a five is because they were bought to sit on either side of the TV. However, when the TV is turned on, it must disturb the solenoid as it stops oscillating. It took me a minute to understand why they stopped working so beautifully. The two hang far enough away not to be affected, but the ones on the stand just stay still until the TV turns off. Other than that it was a great purchase.
