It is very light and only opens in the middle of the back, like a duffel bag, so everything is well protected. It is well suited for the gym and comfortably carries a lot of equipment. It sits very high on the back and is quite a long backpack that (due to its length) may not meet carry-on restrictions, so I don't recommend it for travel. I also wish there was a little organization inside and even a small pocket for a laptop or tablet, but I don't think it was designed for that, so that's fine. There are two very long side zips (and all zips are great) that can be used for water bottles or very basic organization, but no top quick access pocket or front pocket at all. Now it's a good holdall, but these "little things" would make this backpack so much better.
