Review on πŸŽ™οΈ Olympus VP-10 Voice Recorder: 4GB PCM/WMA/MP3, USB, Voice Activated Recording - Black by Jonathan Partridge

Revainrating 4 out of 5

A robust recording tool with versatile controls, long recording times and surprisingly high sound quality in an understated design!

I'm really pleasantly surprised at how much I like this little pen. After reading some of the reviews I wasn't 100% sure it would deliver on the promises made in the specs but it does. . Those who had trouble resetting the date simply didn't read the guide. The five recording presets work well for their intended purpose (pocket, conference, etc.) and the settings can be adjusted to suit your conditions once you become familiar with the controls. I've worn my VP-10 in my shirt pocket at work for two weeks and then in my pants pocket for another week and not only has it not broken it hasn't even been scratched. This is a solid little device. But it's not the best! The best is the sound quality. Not the sound quality you can hear through a small 10mm speaker, but the sound quality you hear either through a good playback device after downloading files to your computer, or through really good headphones. The headphones I use are the venerable Sony headphones. Professional headphones Sony MDR7506 7506 with large diaphragm. The 1/8" plug connects to the jack on the top of the VP-10, which is very convenient. A few years later I spent in front of microphones from Shure SM-7 to Electro-Voice RE-27. , Rode NTK and Neumann TLM149, Olympus VP-10 sounds surprisingly good in my opinion. Dynamic range, wide frequency response, low self-noise and high frequency clarity are all present in Olympus miniature onboard microphones. time in internal memory. Which meeting takes so long? It's one of those things that if it breaks, I order a new one the same day. Hopefully they stay in production for a long time. I'm tempted to buy a spare just in case.
