Great quality, get them while they're good!

Media could not be loaded. I needed a budget amp for my truck and saw Big D's dyno video of the MR2 amp and met and surpassed the reviews and it's a small thing the footprint isn't much bigger than a cell phone but it wasn't in stock, but R2 was the same price and same performance but at 2 ohms and it's class A/B. So I threw the bones and ordered it and I can say I'm very satisfied, it feels good and reliable, well made and it seems to deliver the performance it promises and it sounds good. The superiority in sound quality of all Class A/B is not relative nowadays, Class D is so sophisticated nowadays that you won't hear a difference in a subwoofer if there is a difference nowadays. It's got a backlight that's nice and unheard of for a budget amp, and it also has two output connectors compared to the unwanted MR2 ultra-small gauge cable that runs through a Molex connector. The downside is that class A/B amps are not as efficient and draw more power than class D amps and they get hot all the time. While that's not an issue unless they're choked in a tight spot, it could be an issue if they're heavily used. , the other has plastic mounting feet molded into the end caps, they are not broken but they are not as strong as metal feet, it has flat screw terminals, no spade terminals. Also, it's only stable into 2 ohms, but on the other hand it still puts out 500+/-Wrms only into 2 ohms, not 1 ohm, and 1 ohm loads the amp more and is generally less efficient. . It's much larger than the D-class MR2, that's not a problem for me, I have plenty of space, plus the larger size looks more impressive than the tiny MR2. All in all it's a great price and it actually makes me think of 4K. It costs $399 for my RV to replace my Pioneer GM9701 1200+wrms but until I'm ready to upgrade the price will go up. I suspect that all Toro Tech amps will unfortunately go up in price soon.
