I bought this for a number of reasons and it works in every way. First I need a flat fork as it's behind our bed. I have a side/flat plug for my wife's surge protector and this goes straight down. So both fit well and the bed can be (almost) flush with the wall. Next, I wanted the end caps to have good spacing to accommodate the wall warts. I keep a phone charger by my bed and sometimes I plug other things into it. Most of the ports on this device are separated far enough that the ports on the device do not interfere with each other. Finally, I wanted something with a moderately short cable. Six feet is a lot, but most spade plug surge protectors I've found had longer cords. It needs to go through a full leg, so the less loose the better. You'd struggle to find a cord shorter than six feet without going into the surge protector, like, "I'm afraid to plug in anything more expensive than an alarm clock." If I needed a different surge protector, I would strongly consider buying another one of these.
