Save $40 on photography

I paid $100 for this and it works almost the same as the device I paid $60 for, except for the WiFi function. However, since the Wi-Fi feature is pretty much useless, just go for the $60 option. The Wi-Fi is a bit tricky to set up and the instructions aren't very clear, but I managed. You need to be very close to connect via Wi-Fi e.g. B. 25 feet or so. And then he connects. It's not always like that. You can't view live video over Wi-Fi, which almost makes sense given that you're most likely capturing from a motion trigger rather than continuously. I can live with it. However, you cannot view recorded clips without first downloading them to your phone. It looks awkward. I work with security DVRs every day and never have to download clips to my computer to watch them. Also, this device tends to reset your settings and reset to default settings. Every day I carefully go in and choose my settings, and every morning when I check the camera all the settings are reset to default. Capture mode, clip duration, time and date format, time and date itself. All wrong. So instead of nice 30 second clips with the correct time and date stamps, I get 10 second clips and I have no idea when they were actually taken. Or sometimes I get photos instead of videos. My old camera didn't have WiFi, but was otherwise set up the same as this one and kept my settings. Video quality is actually okay, especially at night, and IR illumination is pretty good. Motion detection works quite well when set to a high value. It was a little patchy on medium setting. Setup is pretty easy with the exception of WiFi. And even Wi-Fi is not very complicated. It just seems like customization options aren't saved very well. I get about 3 days of battery life and I use batteries that work fine. In general, this isn't a bad camera, but it does have a few quirks. If you need Wi-Fi, get a better device. If you don't, save some money and buy one without.
