Straps are good for the price but I suspect the stretch won't last too long. I am a curvy woman, recently lost weight and my pants are large. I need a harness to accommodate my weight fluctuations so I'm looking for an adjustable harness. I figured an elastic adjustable strap would fit. I ordered this one because it was a good price for 2. I have no particular personal complaints. I believe this is a common "type" of belt. What I don't like is that I can't adjust it to be snug without cutting into my waist, especially when I bend over. The elastic will bend under a lot of tension, but I think I'm stretching it too much. But if I don't do that, the belt won't do its job. Since I have to pull it so tight I think it's losing its elasticity. My next belt will be adjustable but not elastic. It will be interesting to see if they hold up and how the inelastic style will perform. I don't think these straps are bad or distorted in any way. I think this is not the best/correct style for me. I do not discourage or recommend these belts. I sincerely believe it's a matter of personal preference, body type and style.
