This year I had this messy hair to use metallic thread for my embroidery and thought how fun it would be to have my holiday stuff shiny. What I didn't expect was the frustration I would experience while using it. I broke 4 needles and several yards of thread only to find out my machine wasn't set up properly for metallic thread. fixed and whamo everything is stitched up like a charm. just the occasional glitches common to regular embroidery thread. I have a PE 770 which I left factory set to 0 voltage and 650 max speed, threading the machine and quickly broke 3 needles with tangled threads. Here's what I learned from another review that saved the life of the car and the project! I changed the tension to 4 (as a starting point. Turned out I didn't need to adjust more, this was the perfect setting, some adjustment might be needed. Just fiddle with the tension setting a bit to see what Your machine doesn't need it.) I threw on a net for thread New ThreadNanny 10 yards of embroidery sewing thread on my spool, I trimmed it down a bit to make it fit snugly. I slipped it over the filament holder and used the smallest filament cap for my machine. I loaded my design and took care of the stitch and left it at max speed. and keep sewing. Less tension allows thread to pass through the machine more easily, the stitch pattern of the thread prevents thread from slipping off the spool and tangling, and a small cap guides thread gently. The result was a beautiful design embroidered onto a towel. I really like this high quality metallic yarn. Perseverance and caring for the car paid off, as did reading the reviews! You will love this thread and the results of your embroidery! and a small cap gently guides the thread. The result was a beautiful design embroidered onto a towel.
