Review on 🔳 Leviton 84012-40 4-Gang Stainless Steel Toggle Device Switch Wallplate by Ben Diesel

Bought this from Revain a few years ago as my local hardware store only sold the flimsy flimsy plastic version. I finally got around to installing it today. (Some projects just take time, right?) This thick "heavy" plastic version is very brittle and breaks easily. A corner broke off as soon as I took it out of my pocket and accidentally hit the dressing table. I couldn't believe it broke so easily. Then I screwed it in. It broke from the screw hole to the switch hole with minimal screw tightening torque. Other screw holes cracked with even less torque. Even with careful installation of the switch, it is difficult to perfectly align all 8 screw holes. I think a switch plate like this needs to "give" a bit to get the screws all the way into their holes. After all this fuss I see that there is a tiny chip on another corner of the plate, presumably from shipping it in a bubble envelope. Looks like the hardware store now has a nylon 4 button toggle switch plate for a fraction of what I paid for that plastic switch plate. Hopefully it's less prone to cracking.
