After watching some YouTube videos of people doing DIY eyelash extensions with this kit, I was dying to try it myself. The problem is that the glue remover doesn't work. NOTHING WORKS. I don't think I managed to remove even one cluster from the 6+ attempts, all it did was burn like hell. The only thing that worked was coconut oil, and even then only managed to remove a cluster or two at a time after a few minutes of gentle rubbing and coaxing. After most of the clusters fell off, I found I only had 50% of my natural lashes. Obviously I panicked and turned to Google. It turns out that eyelash extension specialists are against clusters because they can cause permanent eyelash loss called traction alopecia. Traction alopecia is more likely to occur if you glue your natural lashes together or if the extensions themselves are too heavy. Obviously, cluster lashes are inherently heavier and much more difficult to attach to just ONE natural lash. If you absolutely must try DIY eyelash extensions, please do not use clusters - select individual ones and use the least amount of glue to limit the risk of damaging your natural lashes. If you have already bought them, you can turn them into separate ones by splitting them manually. My natural lashes may grow back, but I don't want to risk it a second time. Please be careful and do your research before trying these extensions!
