Review on Philips AVENT Washable Nursing Pads: Stay Dry and Comfortable with 6-Count Absorbent Pads by Paul Stevens

good for breastfeeding

My wife and I just had our second baby and wanted to try and save money by using washable nursing pads. The first variety we tried was just 5 layers of TL Care 6 pack organic cotton nursing pads, natural, they soaked through and just didn't absorb very well. We received them for testing and found them satisfactory. Sure, we're comparing them to disposables that are highly absorbent, but they work well enough for everyday use. They are more absorbent than 5ply cotton, my wife says she would recommend them and I'm willing to order a few more packs. The woman goes through them in about 5 days, plus or minus. We found ordering a mesh bag to store and wash dirt (so it doesn't get lost) was invaluable, and we recommend this Honey-Can-Do LBG-01145 Lingerie Laundry Bag, White. We plan to buy a few more bags. Also, my wife generally recommends using disposables outside of the home, but for everyday use at home, they're great. She recommends these Lansinoh 20265 Disposable Breast Pads Boxes of 60 (4 Pack) as they absorb moisture slightly better and are larger than others and also come in separate pouches for easy portability.

Pros
  • Very soft and absorbent
Cons
  • Something different
