Maybe it's Dimethicone which is a derivative of silicone and the second ingredient but I bought five different products at once from a YouTube blogger (suggestions for damaged broken hair) , this one covers the hair , making it feel less crunchy at the ends, and until I get to my salon I'm currently annoyed with broken split ends that feel like crusty broom handles. This product prevents me from picking up scissors and smelling them 🙃
