I use it with small Italian towels to get into places my inflexible hands can't reach. Because of all the reviews about the handles coming loose after a few uses. I was careful not to pull or stretch the towel as I dried my back. I made sure to keep enough tension to get the job done, but I don't pull with excessive force. They have survived multiple washes. I'm still using my first one and it hasn't worn out yet. (Although I use it sparingly, I don't exfoliate it often) As some reviews say, it compresses so it's not as wide. To be honest, it's a good 1-2 cm, but it's not noticeable. Based on other Italian towels I've used I'm pretty sure this is just a feature of these towels. When they dry out, they return to their original size.
