They were used to spending the night kayaking in a hammock, so they had a lot of problems from the start. I gave them four stars even though they weren't waterproof (at all) because nothing I've bought that claims to be waterproof has been remotely waterproof. Tenacious, you bet - but they'll get soaked. When they are soaked, they are very, very wet and take quite a long time to dry. But even wet they were warmer than without them. Of all the items I took with me, socks were one of the pieces of gear I couldn't do without. I would maybe buy an extra sleep set.
