When I first took the watch out of the box the time setting button was not flashing (as it should). I tried again, inserting the button at a slight angle, and it worked - and continued to work for several months until it stopped. I took out the box and saw the "lifetime guarantee" but only on the go. It was the stupid plastic button that stopped working, not the whole movement. I took the watch to the Dakota kiosk at the local mall and the gentleman there told me to ship it. I saw on the listing in the box that such a service can cost up to $20 plus shipping. But he said the warranty on all watches is five years - it was covered. That was very good news. The bad news was that shipping would take 6-8 weeks. So I've been without a watch for a while, but at least Dakota has backed their product. If you have a Dakota kiosk nearby I would recommend this watch. If not, then you can spend almost hours on repairs when something stupid stops working. The watch itself is a very durable device and the glass has not been scratched in about 6 months. I like the look and the carabiner is strong and easy to put on and take off. No doubt about the aesthetics or functionality of the watch itself.
