The lower shields that connect the base are very easy to detach if you are working with heavier equipment or if you are touching it too hard. I tried tightening the screws, but they were still loose over time, making my image look a bit wonky than I would like for a handheld device. The top grip is pretty solid but intimidating at first because it's not tight enough and the whole camera could fall off. I like how the poles can be attached, which really won me over, but I don't think it's worth the risk of damaging the camera.
