Talk about a tight cut (with blade 0) without absolute pain. I tried everything to hurt or hurt myself. Failed. These cheap $40 clippers gave me constant pain if I wasn't using them in a certain way. The cut was not only very tight, but also fast. One pass is enough. To solve two problems I heard about: heat and noise. Yes, the clippers were starting to get hot, but that was after they used them for the equivalent of two consecutive haircuts. It was warm to the touch but not to the head. It is no problem for me. Noise. If you really want a hummingbird, this isn't it. And it doesn't ring loud in your ears. From the barber shops I've visited, the motor noise is normal. It depends on how sensitive your ears are. Overall this seems like a winning clipper - I'll post again if my opinion changes. July 31, 2017 - Still working great.
