Perfection is impossible at this price. We have tried others and are sticking with these. Cons: When the lever is tightened it approaches level but still seems to sag, but when the lever is tightened the lamp arm cannot swing back and forth. If the hand is free, it really sags. We needed them to swing because they stick out a bit from the wall. They're hinged to the base in one direction, so you just twist the base to rotate it in the direction you want, which is a nice feature when you tighten the lever. We hardwired the bulbs with a dimmer - my electrician didn't like my choice but I ended up looking. They are a bit sensitive - they flicker - when you touch the switch on the lamp's wall plate. The finish is brushed bronze, with the bronze only showing around the edges of the wall panel - otherwise I'd say it's more of a black finish. Tint - The base color of the tan/burlap.
