We bought this item for our mother who is in hospice and thought it would be perfect for placing a tray of food on a chair. The table is plastic and thin. While holding the tray, he bounces a little and one side is lower than the other. I'm always afraid that he will collapse on her. Also, the cup tray is smaller than a regular glass and completely unusable. I wish I'd just bought some good old wooden TV trays so we wouldn't have to worry about everything falling into her lap. As mum is in the final stages of hospice I only chose to keep the tray as I don't have time to look for anything else but I have returned the second one ordered and will dispose of it once it is gone necessary. My advice: look elsewhere.
