It was strong enough to keep my head up during the flight. Ironically, it was very hot on the plane and I was too hot to continue. In fact, I've been sweating without a headrest, as has my wife, who sat next to me, and she loves the heat. The temperature on the return flight was better and I found the headrest great and not too hot. As such, it performs well in the normal cooler temperatures encountered on international flights. One of the main advantages is that it doesn't take up much space when traveling. Much better than lugging around those big pillows.
