As with all GFCIs, the bolts are for tightening the connection, not for wrapping the wire under the bolts. Do not fully unscrew and then try to wrap the copper wire around the screw and retighten. It still won't work. This includes the green grounding screw. Loosen the screw, insert the wire into the slot on the back and tighten the screw. Also, you need to connect to the line, otherwise it won't work. Only if you have other outlets connected to this one, connect it to the load side.
