My Everyday Blade

No, they're not "trendy" or "cool", they're not overly expensive. These are only DE blades at a good price. Since 2009 I have been using Dorco DE blades as my standard safety razor blade. Korean production, good quality. Yes, of course they are spicy. After I started shaving DE, I bought one of the blade sets available and tried a variety of blades from other brands. But I kept coming back to Dorko. Now if I buy them at a competitive price I can buy them for seven cents a blade! For now I've set aside 4 or 5 packs of these as I burn 100 or more a year (I can usually get 2-3 shaves off a blade). Up until six months ago I alternated Dorco (in Merkur 38c or Gillette Fatboy) with Feather Blades (in Muhle R41). Over time I've found that I'm _really_ not looking forward to the Muhle/Feather days, as the combination's incredibly aggressive profile causes irritation on my skin. :D That's why I wasn't entirely "broken" when the $56 mill broke the headstand by accidentally falling on the floor. A bad ending for an expensive razor (and Muhle doesn't provide heads), but I'd call it a "relief" more than anything else. :D

Pros
  • Razor and Hair Remover
Cons
  • Makes me nervous
