Great way to get started

Highly recommend for beginner. I can't speak to the quality and long-term color fastness or bleeding of this thread, but for a beginner who isn't doing anything fancy or forever, it is awesome. I bought this for my 10yo niece who is just starting to embroider.I am thrilled that they came already on labeled bobbins (I can't even tell you how many hours I spent doing that for my DMC thread). It is a nice variety of color choices and the numbers seem to align to DMC colors. (To the reviewer who complained that red is #666, take that up with DMC it is their numbering convention . Haha)It comes with multiple needle threader a in two varieties to try out, and a few needles of various types and sizes. The snip scissors it came with were useless and not sharp enough to cut the thread.I put this together in a tote bag with a beginner book, some basic cotton fabric squares, a hoop, a cute pair of unicorn scissors (found on ebay), and some water soluble sticky stabilizer (to draw your pattern on, stitch over, and then dissolve away with water). She has completed several small projects with it all on her own. The colors did not bleed when soaked to remove the stabilizer. It is so inexpensive nobody has to stress about how much thread is used or wasted and she can just have fun and gain experience.

Pros
  • Arts, Crafts & Sewing
Cons
  • The floss threads are not strong enough for heavy-duty sewing projects
