Compared to arlo 2 pro the quality is fantastic and the latency is MUCH lower when connecting to a live stream! I don't need a subscription based service and was looking for a 'simple' camera to mount outside that would alarm and record when triggered. The bonus is that even if the power goes off, this camera will record if it detects motion (assuming you've set it to detect it at that point) and then save it to your SD card to keep it safe show later. After a lot of research, I settled on the Reolink Argus 3. This camera is very good, but of course no Wi-Fi camera compares to a wired camera, period. easy and I was able to use my camera through the app in minutes. Motion detection needs to be tested and you need to understand that if you set it higher (more than 9 feet) the range of motion decreases significantly. So if you're good, you should be fine in the 7-9 foot range. but the higher the better your results. tricky so make sure you're there when you load it into the camera, it locks into place. It works really well for what I use it for which is to keep track of my backyard which is a restricted traffic area. Battery life is now at 78% and got a full charge almost 4 weeks ago so no complaints but again it's in a very light traffic area. The only improvement I can say about this camera is that the siren doesn't even need to be mentioned. It's very quiet and I don't think it will scare anyone away or attract attention. The two-way mic is very sensitive and I've only tried it a few times. I felt it wasn't very good and I wouldn't be able to discuss it with a delivery man if necessary. Although it's delayed, it's clear when it works. The main disadvantage is the resolution of the camera. If you have excellent Wi-Fi signal strength and high speeds that would be great, but if not then the resolution needs to be lowered to avoid buffering. The drop works, but what good is a 1080P camera if you can't use it in 1080P. My Wi-Fi seems to fall right in between these ranges, allowing me to use it at 1080P most of the time, but sometimes I have to turn it off. However, if you're looking for crystal clear zoomed images and great two-way communication, this version might not be the best choice for you. I know there is a newer version that I haven't tried, so maybe this version contains some fixes for the mentioned issue? I will probably get more REOLINK cameras in the near future and this will definitely be my choice over arlo!
