I work from home on a laptop provided by my employer. I only have standard user rights, so I can't configure some settings without an administrator username and password. One of these settings disables the screensaver, preventing my laptop from crashing. When I was working in the office this made sense for security reasons, but now when I'm working from home the 10 minute splash screen is annoying. There are times when I use a computer but don't actively type anything, e.g. B. during a meeting or training. It's annoying watching a video or anything that doesn't require active input, and after 10 minutes the screensaver threatens to turn on and lock the computer, forcing me to stop and log in again. This device is very smart. way to circumvent this limitation. You plug it into a USB port on your computer or other power source and turn it on. It has a circular disk with rotating text. Simply place the mouse sensor over any writing in this area and as the disc rotates, the writing will register and cause the mouse arrow to move across the screen, preventing the screensaver from activating or locking the computer. So now I don't have to worry about locking my computer during my break or lunch. When I'm watching a video or attending a meeting, I can just turn on the mouse and not be distracted by the screensaver. This device works as described. There's a questionable part, and that's you have to be really careful with mouse placement. If you don't see the mouse moving across the screen when you turn on the device, be sure to change the position of the mouse and make sure the sensor is over the label. Also, the shape of some mice can make the task difficult. The sides of the mouse slider rise up a bit so the face isn't perfectly flat, so some mice might have trouble landing on the disc properly. I was able to get my MX Master 3 to work with it with no problems, but it took me some time to find the right position. For me, this device works as advertised and I would recommend it unless you constantly need to move your mouse or press keys on your keyboard to keep your computer awake.
