Review on Enhance Your YETI Rambler Bottle with the Cup Cap Accessory! by Philip Russell

Surprisingly disappointing

"Yeti" - the name screams "quality". That's why I was so disappointed with the Yeti Rambler and Yeti Rambler Bottle Cap Accessory. The first thing that comes to mind when you hear the name "Yeti" is that it's better off staying cool or hot than any other brand. Well it just isn't. The first thing I noticed (and has noticed every time) is when I pour hot tea into my Rambler, the bottle feels warm on the outside. This is not a good sign as it means the insulation is NOT working properly. You can see the heat escaping through the plastic/rubber portion of the cup lid accessory. So next time I tried doing without the cup lid but it didn't work. He's still not isolated. In short, within three hours the temperature of my tea has changed a lot. At four o'clock he was barely warm. Another thing I found when NOT using the mug lid accessory was that when I tried to pour the tea it all dripped all over the place. So now I'm sticking with the cup lid and it doesn't drip much when pouring. Another point - the cup lid is very strong, and by strong I mean heavy. I'm not saying it's too heavy to carry, but here's the problem - the mug lid is made from a very heavy, high quality metal. That's fine until you realize you're trying to use it as a hot drink mug. The lid of the mug is the outermost part of the device and becomes the coldest part. Even if the liquid is still quite hot when you pour it into a cold, hard metal lid, the liquid will cool down pretty quickly because it's cold, hard metal! (Most thermoses have a cup lid that's covered in plastic, and now I can see why.) Overall, this Yeti Rambler and its cup lid accessory were very disappointing and don't live up to the pretty "Yeti" name.
