I have this bench in my hallway because I needed a place to put things from my purse and a place to sit and put on and take off my winter shoes. I didn't want to clutter up the hallway too much, but I had a really hard time finding an attractive storage bench that wasn't too deep. I was so happy to find this and especially at this price. The material is nice, soft and comfortable (not very soft but you don't sit on it for hours anyway). The luggage compartment could be a bit deeper, but is deep enough for drawer organizers (see second photo). It was very easy to attach the legs and it's lightweight so most people could handle the crate on their own. It is very durable and can withstand a heavy person. If you wish to add a throw pillow, note that the shallow depth prevents you from sitting comfortably with the pillow behind you. The gray turned out a bit darker than I expected (should have matched the silver but oh well). My only wish is for the lid to be attached to the bench, but it's not as annoying as I thought having to take it off to get inside. The lid is very easy to remove and put back on.
