I don't like that I can only give Nest 3 stars. I was one of the first to start a nest many years ago. At that time I had 2 cameras. One turned up in solid color and while it wasn't guaranteed they sent me a refurbished replacement. Within a year or less, it suddenly stopped working. On the other hand I had problems because ITS HACKED! Yes, admittedly Nest, because there was no way to avoid what happened. When I was at home the camera had to be turned off and one day as I was walking by I noticed that the light was blue. I was shocked because I KNEW it was off. I went to the camera and as I got closer I looked in and it turned off. As I got closer, a man was looking at my attic. It scared me. Shortly thereafter, one suddenly stopped working. So recently I had a problem with crazy excessive noise from upstairs neighbors and the excruciating retribution they suffered for my complaint to management. It's almost impossible to evict someone in the state of California so I needed proof of what they did to us so I bought 3 NestCams. Unfortunately, NestCams could NOT miss the terribly loud bang, which the iPhone clearly picked up. I don't understand why, so disappointing because that's what I bought them for. On these cameras you could hear someone whispering but NO serious noises, it was EXTREMELY disappointing. I was only able to use them to visually capture how we wake up at 5am each morning - thankfully it was obvious upon viewing, but it was missing the key component I needed. The output micro also sucks. My dog is shy to say the least and doesn't listen when I speak into the microphone. I don't understand why the sound/sound in them is SO BAD. I ended up keeping them to myself but I have to say I still fear for my privacy and feel like I have to babysit them and fold them down when they are home or turn them off/unplug them . Oh it reminds me The Home/Away option doesn't work, I programmed all the settings correctly. They never turn off when we're home, ever, so you'll be notified every time they turn on and turn off the censorship. The ones I had a few years ago didn't have home/away jobs either. I thought it was fixed now but no. I hope they get better soon, they are not cheap.
